what you'll need
1/4C water
1/4C butter
1C brown sugar
tbsp. cornstarch
1tsp vanilla
Dash of milk (For creamer icing)

Bring water to boil, add in butter and stir occasionally until melted,
add in brown sugar and stir constantly for 2 minutes then let simmer on med/low heat for 8-10mins stirring occasionally. Once simmer's foam becomes thick top with tsp. of vanilla and stir constantly for 3-5 minutes until icing takes form.
For thicker icing, cook additional 3 minutes stirring occasionally and for thinner, add in dash of milk and mix well.

Extra smooth cooking tips

If your butter is hard/cold, warm by boiling 2tbsp. of water and mixing butter in, let cool before adding it to the mix though and deduct water added through boiling to warm butter from any of the ingredient's liquid i.e. water, milk, oil.. ext.

Let cookies cool before icing.

Serve on fancy tray or the jumbo cookies are perfect fit to a tea plate.

A dash of vanilla ice cream is a delight with caramel icing cookie treat.

It began as a small school celebration in California and grew throughout the communities into a week long celebration , that we now celebrate the full month of March.

After the wild fire effect of women expressing the blatant lack of information in regards to women in schools and every aspect of life, except for the upkeep of the children, home & dinner, sparked the nation to realize the long unspoken issue of the "Invisible Women".
Some recent encounters and moves toward equal rights and in the general recognition of women have been taking place just within the last 20 years.

Between 1988-1994, deliberations continued leading to congress passing additional resolutions requesting/authorizing the President to proclaim March of each year as Women's History Month and since 1995 our U.S. presidents have issued annual proclamations designating the month of March as Women's History Month.

It was in February of 1980, that President Jimmy Carter issued a presidential proclamation declaring the week of March 8th, "National Women's History Week".
In 1987, after being petitioned by the National Women's History Project, Congress passed Pub. L. 100-9 For designating March as "Women's History Month".
And International Woman's Rights Day is celebrated by many around the would on March 8th, since 1911 and began to gain popularity in America in 1975.

A few notable accounts of women's strides in equality;

In the 1970s women's history and the broader field of women's studies started to be included at many universities.(but not yet high schools nor middle and elementary schools.)

The 19th Amendment to the Constitution, granting women the right to vote, was signed into law by Secretary of State "Bainbridge Colby" in 1920.

Originally written by Susan B. Anthony and introduced in Congress in 1878,

"The federal woman suffrage amendment" is passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate in 1919. Then sent to the states for ratification.

"No ones free until everyone is free" -Fannie Lou "Cautious, careful people, always casting about to preserve their reputation and social standing, never can bring about a reform. Those who are really in earnest must be willing to be anything or nothing in the world's estimation." -Susan B. Anthony
